Interactive Digital Installation on Movement and Vortex

Interactive Digital Installation on Movement and Vortex Moving creates vortices and vortices create movement. Created by Japanese collective Team Lab for the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne. The installation starts to react when a person moves, a force is applied in that direction. As a result a flow occurs. When a fast flow occurs a rotation phenomenon is produced due to the difference in the flow velocity around it, creating a vortex.(Excerpt from the text)

The NGV Triennial’s Most Fun Work is a Digital, Phosphorescent Whirlpool Enter the black box and take a wade in pools of light. In an empty, dark room in the NGV this summer, you’ll find dozens of people wandering around in circles looking at the lights on the floor. It’s a digital simulation of the movement of water – like wading through phosphorescent pools. Visitors drag beams of light around with their feet while overhead an ambient, choral soundtrack plays.(Excerpt from the text)
