YAWARAKA CHASHITSU [ FLEXIBLE TEAROOM ]

YAWARAKA CHASHITSU [ FLEXIBLE TEAROOM ]

Product details
A tearoom where all surfaces except the floor are made of soft and stretchable rubber cords. The interior is a space enveloped by these rubber cords, and two tatami mats have been installed as flooring.

Concept
A separate space, out of the ordinary, within an everyday space.
Except for the floor, each border-line with other spaces; the ceiling, and every surface, is a flexible and vague wall. You can go in or out through any part of these vague walls. Using a clip, you can create a window anywhere, and the lighting inside the tearoom can be controlled depending on the number of clips affixed. Although you can enter from any point, jackets and so on may get caught on the rubber and make you look just a little unsightly. Without leaving your worldly status, poses and vanity "at the door", you won't be able to enter.
